How to Choose an NGO in Uganda You Can Actually Trust

If you want to give or partner in Uganda, the hardest question isn't whether to help — it's who to trust. Here are five checks that work.

1. Is it legally registered?

WENET's NGO Bureau registration is INDR153464357NB and its URSB incorporation is 80020002547194.

2. Is it independently vetted?

WENET is a GlobalGiving Vetted Organization (2023) and partners with the Obama Foundation's GOA Network and Catalyst 2030.

3. Does it publish numbers?

4,837 students reached, 1,680 farmers mentored, 908 girls trained, 30 youth leaders developed.

4. Can it show measurable results?

Ask for KPIs tied to projects and regular reporting.

5. Is it locally rooted?

WENET was founded in Uganda in 2020 by a Ugandan teacher and is run from offices in Jinja and Lira.
